"Hot Garbage" Waiver Wire Week 12

If you're still alive or barely breathing in your race to the fantasy playoffs, now is not the time to get lazy. Let's get cracking!...

HOT GARBAGE:

QB: Matt Moore/MIA: Yep, THAT GUY! Let's be honest, his team is hot right now, has a decent schedule going forward, and he's playing his best football when it matters...the weeks leading up to the fantasy playoffs. While his yardage was pedestrian (16-20, 123) he did throw 3 TDs, and continues to look comfortable on the run. Scoopl up Melba's 3rd cousin if you need some depth at the QB position.

RB: Kevin Smith/DET: "Dogma" was supposed to be the guy in Detroit once upon a time, before a series of injuries lead to his release. As fate would have it, Smith was picked up after a series of injuries to the RB stable in Detroit left them pretty thin at the position. Smith answered the bell this week with 140/2TDs, & 4 catches for 61 yards. Smith is a much needed cog in the offensive wheel of the Lion offense, & will be needed if they plan on making any type of playoff push. Get him NOW if he's available.

WR: Jacoby Ford/OAK: If he's on your WW, pick him up. He was the defacto #1 before getting injured, and with Darius Heyward-Bey being carted off the field, and Denarious Moore dinged up in the Minnesota matchup, the window opens back up when Ford returns.

TE: Kellen Winslow/TB: The normally anemic offense of the Bucs came to life this week, mostly due facing the juggernaut Packet offense, & having t play catchup. However, Legarrette Blount looked rejuvenated, as did Mike Williams, & "K2" kicked in with his best game to date with 9/132. Although it's tough to gauge this offense week to week, it's a good sign that they can still hang in shoot outs to some degree.

COLD TRASH:

QB:Ryan Fitzpatrick/BUF: If you've held on this long, what are you waiting for? With a dinged up Fred Jackson, Fitzpatrick is forced to tip his hand and pass more often. The reeling Bills are no longer a viable offense for fantasy. Drop Fitz for someone like Matt Moore, who's offense is red hot right now.

RB: Chris Johnson/TENN: The man who would be king of fake football, is having a lost year. Lacks explosiveness, decisiveness, & any other "ness" you can think of right now. If you can bounce Johnson & grab Kevin Smith off the wire, I wouldn't kill you for it...not one bit.

WR: Jerome Simpson/CIN: The "Dome" broke out like a fat kid running through poison ivy this week (8/152), in A.J. Green's absence. Problem is, Green will be back, & "Thunder Dome" will be relegated to #3WR like numbers going forward. Hold on in the short term, but once Green is set to return, look to grab a high upside WR off waivers.

TE: Anthony Fasano/MIA: The Italian "Scott Chandler." Fuggedaboutit!
